Access & Arrival
Our aim is to try and cater for the needs of all our guests in our 5 bedroom, home based, guest accommodation. The following is a summary of our provision.

Pre-arrival
The A3055 is the main road into Ventnor. Guests can follow the signs to the Costal Visitors Centre. Alexandra Gardens is located approximately 25m further west. Arriving in Ventnor there is a bus stop in Albert Street, 3 minuets to our accommodation. From the bus stop head west towards the town centre. Turn left into Pier Street, after 50 yards turn left into Alexandra Gardens. We are sited at the middle of Alexandra Gardens.
Departing from Ventnor the bus stop is sited outside ‘Boots’ the chemist in the town centre. Bus routes to most parts of the island leave from this bus stop.
The local taxi service is based in the town centre. We can book this for you on request.
Arrival & Car Parking Facilities
We have a small on road car parking area in front of the accommodation. Our car park is only suitable for salon cars & bikes. Additional parking is in Dudley Road, a large pay and display car park. Also there is East Cliff car park at the East end of Alexandra Gardens, which is free for 24 hours at a time.
The road is tarmac and uneven. There is a camber on the road sloping towards the pavement.
Mobility Impaired
Ventnor is a steep town built in terraces along the cliff. The Windsor Carlton is 400ft above sea level with a steep road and pathway down to shore level. We are level with the town centre. We are a 3 storey building. Bedroom accommodation is set on the middle and top floors. We have no ground floor bedrooms and no lift facilities. There are five steep steps with handrail to the front door, and a small step into main hall way. The breakfast room and drawing room are sited on the ground floor level.
Support for the Visually Impaired
Large print breakfast menus are available on request and staff are on hand to help.
Support for the Hearing Impaired
There are Audio and Visual fire alarms on all floors. All televisions have remote controls and tele-text for programmes with subtitles.
Bedroom Accommodation & En-suite Facilities.
Room Sylvia is on the top floor up 2 full flights & 2 small flights of stairs. Room Sylviais a small double room, south facing with sea view. The double bed is standard size and at standard height from the floor. The shower unit has step/edge at the front. The shower is small but adequate for the average person.
Room Beatrice is on the top floor up 2 full flights & 2 small flights of stairs.It has twin divan beds that can convert to a super king double bed on request. This room is south facing with bay window giving 180 degree sea views. The twin beds are standard single, three foot wide beds, at standard height from the floor. When converted the super king double bed is six foot wide. The shower has a step/edge at the front. The shower unit is of a large size.
Room Eleanor is on the top floor up 2 full flights & 2 small flights of stairs. Room Eleanor is a double room, north facing with views of the town and St. Boniface Downs. The double bed is of continental size, slightly larger than UK size. The bed is low to the floor. The shower has a step/edge at the front. The shower unit is of a large size.
Room Eva is on the first floor up 1 full flight & 1 small flight of stairs. Room Eva is a single room, south facing with sea view. The single bed is a standard single, three foot wide bed, at standard height from the floor. The shower unit is a standard size with a step/edge at the front with side entry.
Room Carolineis on the first floor up 1 full flight & 1 small flight of stairs. Room Caroline is a large double room, south facing with bay window giving 180 degree sea views. The four poster bed is a standard size double bed, at standard height from the floor. The en-suite has a standard size bath with hand rail. The bath has a hand shower at tap end.
Additional Information
• Assistance dogs are welcomed. Dog water and food bowls are available on request.
• Our fire alarm system is a modern up-to-date system. All rooms have heat and smoke detectors. In case of a fire, each floor has alarm sounders and flashing lights. If you or your partner requires assistance, should there be a need for an evacuation, please notify us on arrival.
• Mobile phone reception is generally good. Some net works have limited range.
• We are happy to take delivery of hired equipment. Please contact us with details before arrival.
• We are totally a no smoking building. This includes bedrooms and their en-suites, dining room & drawing room.
• Any special diets may be discussed with management before arrival.
